14 Different Orange Vases
Leerdam Glass Makers have been making orange coloured vases since the 1920s. Orange is the traditional colour of the Dutch Royal Family. Vases were designed for special occasions in the lives of the Members of the Royal Family. The type of glass used for these vases was originally used for automobile brake lights. In 2002 the Nationaal Glas Museum commissioned Willem Noyons to design a vase for Prince Willem Alexander’s and Princess Maxima’s wedding. For Princess Alexia’s birth in 2005 Willem Noyons designed an orange gourd shaped vase. This vase is now known as the Alexia Vase.
