Springflowervase

In 1915 the director of the glassfactory P.M. Cochius requested the architect and designer De Bazel to develop glassustensils for the glassfactory Leerdam-The Netherlands. He was the first in the row of designers like De Lorm, Lanooy, Lebeau en Copier. Both were declared idealists, who based on their theosophisted ideas on the beautiful in relation to the human utilisation, gave a wide berth to the production in Leerdam. De Bazel designs are founded by the idea of a geometric order at the basis of beauty. Replique has, in cooperation with the Museum of the Municipality La Haye, the Nationaal Glasmuseum Leerdam and Atelier Willem Noyons in Utrecht, renewed the production of the springflowervase, in a bit larger variety, in a limited and nummerated version. This vase is het first of a series of four, of wich the second sample will occur in the spring of 2007.
