sculptural ornaments made of glass inspired by nature
These unique pieces were commissioned by Iris van Daalen and designed by Willem Noyons for Antiquariaat Acanthus in Utrecht.
Willem likes to experiment with glass and this was a special opportunity to blow shapes in combination with lighting. This fascinating glass art was developed with his permanent team of glassblowers in Lindava, Czech Republic. The work is in the tradition of the Utrecht collection of glass models by Blaschka and Ernst Haeckel's book, 'Kunstformen der Natur'. The reason for this assignment was the desire to transform Acanthus into a 'Wunderkammer', where art, scientific and curious objects are brought together to amaze and inspire.
